A Conversation With Eugene White

  1. Wow. What did we pay Stephen Hawking to do Big Gene's voiceover? He is so much more eloquent. Not one "wif" or "thelebrate".

    I'm impressed.

Now, exactly where IS the fucking rest room?

  2. Down the hall and take your own toilet paper, we have to cut somewhere so that Dr. White can dress nicely.

  3. But how will he walk? The poster on the other thread has his shoes!

  7. Did anyone hear tonight that Dr. White is getting ready to turn in his resignation to the Board?

  8. I read it on a FB post from a person who is usually on top of Indy news. That doesn't mean it's a fact...but we can keep our fingers crossed.

  9. We should be so lucky

  10. Why would he leave his golden gravy train?

  12. I got a text from someone asking if I knew about White resigning? Hmmmm....news or gossip?

  13. This blog used to be so much fun. IPSB-S seems to have jumped the shark.

    I'm done. Bye, y'all.

  14. Question: What Does It Mean to Have 'Jumped the Shark'?

Answer: 'Jumping the Shark' is a negative expression to say that something that was once good has now peaked, and has taken a severe downturn in quality or usefulness. To 'jump the shark' is the same as saying 'this once-good thing has now become absurd and dragged out' or 'this has crossed over into stupidity and uselessness'.

It references the beginning of the end of "Happy Days", where Fonzie, wearing a leather jacket while on water-skis, is pull to a ramp to jump a shark. "Happy Days" was forever changed.

  17. The Psycho-Stalker

What is it about women who feel the need to call you 10 times a day? (Even when you ignore their calls.)
More Importantly, what is the guy going to tell a women that he didn't just talk about an hour ago?
The Psycho-Stalker will disrupt the balance you have in your day between work and home. She will meld your
personal life with your business life, and make it clear to you that she exists and is planting her rump
right in the middle of your daily agenda. What's worse, if you tell her to stop being so obsessive and
dependent, she'll completely deny and obsession she has. She will see it as a sign that she has to
work harder to win you over, and then she'll end up bothering you more.
See the vicious cycle here? The Psycho-Stalker will never give up, and will drown you in her
own insecurities about relationships and life. If you find yourself in this predicament, I encourage
you to take the blue pill and wake up from your impending nightmare.

  19. What the Hell has happened to the Blog Master? Has he or she Fallen Off the Face of the Earth? or Maybe he/she was Riffed? We need a NEW topic ASAP!!! This is Bullshit!

  20. I have no clue what happened to the blogmaster, but if there's something you want to talk about, post it here and see if it starts a discussion. Why stand there and curse the darkness when you can simply light a candle. ;)

  21. OK, I'll bite:

Next week's schedule, elementary traditional schools:

Diagnostics in language, math, social studies, and science.

    Scrimmage in language.

    Report cards go home Wednesday.

    ISTEP celebration Friday.

Every ISTEP grade must remain strictly aligned to all pacing guides for all tested subjects.

ISTEP prep must continue using Coach materials, along with plethora of test prep items from science and social studies departments.

I'd love to light that candle, but there's no time allocated for its ignition. I don't curse the darkness. I pray that the light still exists somewhere in our future.

  22. Audit Reveals IPS Money Problems
Accounting Problems Follow $20M Proposed Budget Cuts

    POSTED: 5:53 pm EDT March 18, 2011

INDIANAPOLIS -- An audit just released by the State Board of Accounts revealed accounting problems in the state's largest school district, Indianapolis Public Schools.

The findings come as the district is looking to cut $20 million from its budget including 300 teachers, 6News' Kara Kenney reported.

In their 100 page report, auditors found overdrawn cash balances, missing records and bank reconcilements handled incorrectly.

"Yeah, they're having trouble with their finances," said school board candidate James Nixon.

Nixon is an alumnus of IPS and a long time taxpayer.

"Where is the accountability?" Nixon said.

The audit also said IPS overpaid health insurance premiums for two retired teachers, totaling more than $28,308.

According to the audit the teachers were enrolled in Advantage Non-HMO, member only coverage, but the teachers were charged for the less expensive Advantage HMO, member only coverage. The overpayments started when the teachers retired in September of 2008 and continued through November 2010.

  23. Perhaps someone in the blogmaster's family or the blogmaster is ill.

  24. Since the blogmaster (blogmistress) has been silent me thinks he/she is no longer at IPS; nothing to rag about.

  25. I've gotten the impression that blogmaster was older, well past retirement age. Hopefully his/her health is okay.

  26. Rest in peace, mighty blogmaster.

I agree. This website is nothing but a toxic arena of disgrunteld unprofessional teachers. If you have so many complaints, have the guts to schedule an appointment with Dr. White and tell him to his face. If you are not audacious enough then relinquish your positon and provide another person who can show a little respect and gratitude to have the opportunity to help so many children who need positive role models.
