Dear Dr. White

Sorry, we've been away for a while. Now we're back with a message for Dr. White. You can't tell us not to talk to our elected officials. In fact, this song is dedicated to you.

50 comments:

  1. Did you get this cleared with Big Gene before it was posted? Otherwise, you're fired.

  2. Real Mature. I mean I'm not Dr. White's biggest fan but we are supposed to be educated professional adults here.

  3. Wow. I'd expect this from my sixth graders. I love that we're selling commercials on our blog, too.

    IPSB-S = Favorite no more.

  4. Shame on you!!!!!!!!
    Take this down ASAP

  5. So now we are not allowed to talk to our own elected officials. Gotta love that one, not only does he control us when we are at work he thinks he owns us on the weekends.

One of the teachers I work with was called down to personnel, and I went with her as her union rep, and they refused to let me come into the meeting, I guess they have never heard of the Weingarten Rights, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weingarten_Rights
and they told her she would be insubordinate if she didn't come into the office with out me. My position was that you couldn't be insubordinate after the school day...from 7:15 to 2:45 yes, but at 4:15 no way.

  6. Could someone explain what this thread is about?

  7. I understand the "uppers" being the point of contact with the Board Members and media. That is what they are paid to do. Why are you crying so hard with such a vulgar reference? I tend to view this page while my young children are around. I'm so done with your petty garbage. Your blog has done nothing for me, personally. More than that, it has lended the vulgar language I try incredily hard to avoid with my own children, to hear and to experience. Why do you stoop to such a LOW level? I'm sad that you feel this is a representation of the teachers of IPS as a whole. SHAME ON YOU!! I'm seriously thinking like others who have posted on the blog, yet have been referred to as a "lesbian mafia members".

You really need to step up a bit to gain credibility (or in your mind, retain credibility!). What truly is your agenda, here?

I'm guessing like so many before me - you must be the angry board member who is married to the previous principal that pissed of the chief!

If I'm wrong - my apologies, (well no actually because of your stupidity and insensitivity)but grow up. This post is incredibly stupid and juvenile - which makes those of us who strive to make a positive impact - look as stupid as you!

  8. This thread seems to be about the IPS blogmaster being a bit out of control, and vengeful. I think she has outed herself. If you can't be constructive then you need to fold your tent and find some peace elsewhere.
There is no need for vulgarity.

  9. Imagine a parent or a grandparent of a young child coming to this blog and seeing that vulgar video with "posted by an IPS teacher" under it?

Credibility/respect with the public is hard to find for most Indiana public school teachers these days. This kind of thing certainly doesn't help. In fact, it gives the teacher-bashing crowd some more ammunition.

  10. This has gone over the edge and waaaay outside the envelope.

    ReplyDelete
  11. While I think that it is terrible what Dr. White is asking (commanding) us to do, that song/video is way inappropriate, as was the one before it. I thought we were more professional than this.

  12. Did anyone listen to the song? It's a song about someone with wealth and power taking away someone with less money and power.

here are the lyrics for those who don't care to listen
I see you driving 'round town
With the girl i love and i'm like,
    Fuck you!
    Oo, oo, ooo
I guess the change in my pocket
    Wasn't enough i'm like,
    Fuck you!
    And fuck her too!
I said, if i was richer, i'd still be with ya
Ha, now ain't that some shit? (ain't that some shit?)
And although there's pain in my chest
I still wish you the best with a...
    Fuck you!
    Oo, oo, ooo

    Yeah i'm sorry, i can't afford a ferrari,
But that don't mean i can't get you there.
I guess he's an xbox and i'm more atari,
But the way you play your game ain't fair.

I picture the fool that falls in love with you
(oh shit she's a gold digger)
    Well
(just thought you should know nigga)
    Ooooooh
I've got some news for you
Yeah go run and tell your little boyfriend

    (chorus)

Now i know, that i had to borrow,
Beg and steal and lie and cheat.
Trying to keep ya, trying to please ya.
'Cause being in love with you ass ain't cheap.

I picture the fool that falls in love with you
(oh shit she's a gold digger)
    Well
(just thought you should know nigga)
    Ooooooh
    http://www.elyricsworld.com/fuck_you_lyrics_cee-lo_green.html
I've got some news for you
i really hate yo ass right now
    (chorus)

Now baby, baby, baby, why d'you wanna wanna hurt me so bad?

I tried to tell my mamma but she told me
"this is one for your dad"
(your dad, your dad, your dad)
    Uh! Whhhy? Uh! Whhhy? Uh!
Whhhy lady? Oh! I love you oh!
    I still love you. Oooh!

  13. Oh for the love of Pete. I like the song, but it's completely inappropriate and unprofessional to post it here, and it's idiotic to try to pretend that a jilted lover song somehow applies to Dr. White. You're like Beevis and Butthead. "Heh heh heh, 'He said fuck you.' Heh heh heh." Obviously, it's a free country and you can post what you want, but you can't possibly be surprised that most teachers would want to distance themselves from such craziness.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh yeah, those video lyrics represent profound poetic beauty and express deep philosophical truths.

As a previous poster said, it would certainly get a seal of approval from Beevis and Butthead.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I didn't truly appreciate when the sound went out on my laptop....until now. Too bad someone actually took/had the time to post the lyrics. Now my eyes want to bleed.

Did you do this while your kids were taking their diagnostics?

Blogmaster, please remove this entire post. Too much, too much, way too much.

  16. Do any of you teach in high school, because my delicate ears have heard this phrase everyday, multiple times for years...

    ReplyDelete
  17. One can get their point across without swearing. I do it everyday. I really didn't need to read the lyrics.

    ReplyDelete
  18. No shit?

    ReplyDelete
  19. It's BEAVIS, not Beevis. The spelling police has ticketed you both. How you could have misspelled the heroes of our thirty-somethings is beyond me.

Hey, as long as we're writing, reading, writing, and acting like moronic sophomores, we may as well point out idiotic minutae.

    ReplyDelete
  20. minutiae, not minutae. I wrote myself a ticket.

    ReplyDelete
  21. While it may be immature, there have been PLENTY of unprofessional things said on this blog, so don't act like this is the first.

  22. When the RIF notices go out, many teachers who aren't paying attention may be singing the same song.

  27. Indiana Barrister??? Are you kidding?

When it comes to public education matters,IPS and teachers why would anyone go there for info?? Remember the "Education Panel" on his show? I guess one of his 'saviors" is looking for employment.... once again. sigh. Oh those Chatter skools!

    ReplyDelete
  28. At least he is free and willing to attach his name to his post. I wish employees of IPS could do that without fear for their jobs. It might result in real reform being made...
And unless the above poster is calling the document a fake it speaks for itself without being concerned about whether the "indianabarrister" opinon matters or not. If it is a fake I would think that IPS officals could have had it removed from public view already.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I read the document...all I can say is WOW...
It is up to the board member to tell this emperor he is naked.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Indiana Barrister??? Are you kidding?

No, the letter is NOT a fake or bogus. The letter was scanned and then posted Online. If the letter were not legitimate, it would have been removed by now.

  32. New Board/Administration Operational Protocol
    Dr. Eugene G. White, Superintendent

Due to increased concerns with miscommunications, unofficial public information reports to media entities and lack of respect for past Board/Administrative relationships, we are making the following operational changes:
    1. We will become a closed centralized operation district starting Monday, March 14, 2011. Up until now, we have decentralized our operations, but for security and integrity concerns we will now direct all Board Members requests through the Superintendent. If I am out of the Distinct, all concerns and requests must be directed to the Deputy Superintendent.
    • If Board Members make requests to building principals, teachers, support staff, or other school personnel, no response will be made until the request is reviewed by the Superintendent, Failure to follow this directive by any district employee is a primary act of insubordination and failure to follow an official operational directive.
    • If Board Members make requests to central office administration and/or support staff, the request must be directed to the Superintendent for approval. This is now the normal operative process.
    2. The administration cannot direct the action of individual School Board Members. However, I strongly urge all requests through the Board President and the Superintendent to increase of build greater accountability for requests and responses.
    3. This new centralized operational process is directed at reducing and/or eliminating surprises, We cannot have loose ends and undocumented activities at this time.
    4. Only the School Board President can engage the services of the School Board Attorney. All Board Members legal requests must go through the School Board President.

  33. Yes, unfortunately, some of our students and parents use this kind of language, but why should we? I'm with the posters who kindly asked the blogmaster to remove this revolting song from a site where kids may see it. I'm hoping my little one doesn't put together his sounds and blend the awful word.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree with many of the comments here. While I have no respect for White, Brown or Batts; this song was over the top. Especially for a public site where children visit.

  37. Blogmaster..I love it. It reflects my sentiments 100%. Who are these prudes who claim to work in IPS by are offended by the F word.......

  38. Who decides who gets riffed? The principal? A committee? And, is the criteria seniority or just whoever the principal wants to get rid of?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think the Union sits down with the administration at each school so that the process is fair and above board. That is what I have heard but I'm not sure.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Rifs are determined by seniority only. That's a sorry reason. In my school there are a few senior teachers (between 7-up) who need to get the h*$! out and make room for those with more competency. What a shame for their colleagues, the students, and their parents! Way to go UNION!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Rifs are NOT determined by seniority at my school. The principal is getting rid of whoever he/she wants and then covers tracks by making up some sort of reason that most people will buy. Now that's not right.

    ReplyDelete
  42. "I think the Union sits down with the administration at each school so that the process is fair and above board. That is what I have heard but I'm not sure."

Oh, if that were only true! The reality is that RIFs are determined by the folks at IPS downtown. Displaced teacher positions are supposed to be determined by a committee at each school. This process is rarely followed. For instance, at my school, the principal used the displacing process as an opportunity get rid of active union members who vocally support the master agreement and teachers' rights. Everyone knows it, but it's difficult to prove in court. I hope the union teacher does something about it. I will support her if she does.

    ReplyDelete
  43. In IPS, RIFs are determined within seniority-based pools. So there is a pool of 1st and 2nd year teachers and RIFS must come from that pool first, then after that pool is exhausted, RIFs can come from the pool of 3-5 year teachers. Being fired for cause is completely different than reduction in force. If you know someone with more than 5 years of experience who says the get an RIF, they're lying. They're being fired for cause and just don't want to admit that to people.

    ReplyDelete
  44. a principal getting rid of people and giving excuses sounds like TINA FOSTER!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Tina Foster - LOL

  46. You should be fired for putting something like that on this website. It might be a good idea to study the definition of respect. You are a poor example of whatever you are.
