Raise the Roof

IPS Board member Annie Roof has a blog she created. Dr. White hates it so it must be good. Check it out here.

  3. Thanks for this link. But let's talk teacher here. I just heard that IPS is increasing the school day by at least an hour. No extra pay for teachers. Secondary will be teaching until 3:30 minimum. Elementary until 4:30. Has anyone else heard about this, or is my source wrong? I hope!

  4. I talked with my principal today about the master schedule, and she said nothing about ending school later. She stated that special area classes should end at 3:30, same as last year (I'm at an elementary school.)

  5. Arlington and Manual changed start times, so they have a later end time. But, it is still the same number of hours.

Well, duh! Thank you for the revelation! Jesus Christ, I'm amazed that our fellow educators require such mundane questions answered by strangers on a public blog. Actually, this says more about the dire straits of public schools than anything I can fathom.

WTF is going on with professionals in education? Don't you guys ever read your mailings, read your hand-outs, think for yourselves? This must be the same group of educators who ascribe to a conspiracy theory that purports that Daniels and Bennett are somehow in 'cahoots' to sell public schools to the private sector. I'm am f'ing amazed, just totally amazed at the sluggard-like thinking that arises from some of my fellow co-workers!

  7. It certainly confirms what I've felt all along about the way the Board operates; i.e., high-handed and with an old boy/girl network. There are some people on the board who should have been shown the door years ago, but like Danny Burton, have a pact with the devil to be elected for life despite incompetency and lack of vision.

There is no hope for IPS as long as these fools remain in power. The gang of four is on a social agenda that upholds the low expectations of poverty and keeps them in power. I'm sure they feel they're doing best, but their agenda is born of the worst excesses of 1960's liberalism. Student empowerment is not the same thing as letting fools run loose and rampant in the classroom. We've lost several generations of students through their self-centered and self-serving machinations. The only cure is for the elected board members to be tossed out on their inept asses and replaced with politically appointed members. It's a poor choice, but the endless loop of inept leadership needs to be broken, and broken quickly.

  8. I have not received any communication from my school so I am assuming that Eugene will NOT give his usual dog and pony show and that it is not necessary for me to attend. I need the time in my room preparing for my students.

  9. When I arrived at IPS several years ago, one of my first quiet observations was that the black leaders and teachers actually appeared to be holding the students back from achievement.

No, I'm not the poster from directly above! But, I'm freed up in my posting after reading the item from directly above mine.

It's absolutely without conscience that black administrators and black teachers appear to hold such low expectations for their own children/their own culture.

I can think of no reason for this miseducation of black children other than the black leaders (aka Board members)/administrators in IPS somehow financially benefit or benefit from the 'power in the hood' feeling gained from keeping these ghetto kids down or 'in their place'.

The whole IPS set-up reminds me of the old redneck idea of keeping women bare-foot and pregnant. Keep the kids dumb as posts, unable to read much of anything, and by golly you've got a huge population of ignorant, uneducated and easily led people who'll keep on voting for white liberal Cadillac Democrats who'll make sure the welfare, the SSI, the Food Stamps, the Medicaid, the hand-outs will continue.

The longer I think about this miseducation of black children, the more I understand Malcom X and his beliefs. And, to top it all, I'm white.

How dear you! You are the one who stands in front of these students 180 days instructing them. Point the finger at yourself. Since you want to go there. Yes, about 85% of the IPS Population of students are Africian Americans. 10% black teachers. 90% white teachers. Can you teach our black children? You can't because the entire district is failing. Are you a role model? Look at the behavior of our teachers on this blog. Lead by example, be the role model and professional you want your students to be. Yes, you can go that extra mile to make a difference in the life of a child's Help them to pass. Yes, teach them on Saturdays too.

The star need to get a whole of this blog,Find all these teachers computer IP address and expose their filts. You guys are behaving very unprofessional.

If You are A teacher, the students see you infront of them every instructional day. Do your job.

You don't know anything! You can't even spell or write a simple sentence. Additionally, you can't get the Indianapolis Star to trace anyone's IP address. Hell, the Star can't write a straight news story.

By the way, what in Heaven's name is meant by exposing 'their filts'?

  13. Or "How dear you?"

  14. I agree with the comment about black teachers feel the power of the hood. That will continue until the "4" idiots on the board are removed. They are the ones who continue to hold back the black children.

  15. Don't forget the leader of the pack of uncaring board members is Mary Busch. I will remember her next May when she runs for reelection.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Mary, Mary, quite contrary;-)

Leader of the bobbleheads on the board. It took her long enough to ditch the Angela Davis hair-do of the 60's and 70's. It's too bad she hasn't ditched the same worn out ideas. It would be funny as hell to watch her try and teach a class in IPS. The students would eat her alive. That would be amusing to see her try her ivory tower academia theories on the hood rats.

  17. Everyone who goes have fun tomorrow listening to Dr. White tell you how great he is.

  18. Everybody get ready for our annual spanking!

  19. Hey, Professor McGibberish - Why don't you go expose your own filts to the hole district so we can know xactly how good you act professional!
    Ya Moron.

It's already happened, Northwest took a group of students to the University of Indianapolis, where Busch tried to address them, the teachers just let her try to keep their attention, and get them to behave...she failed...I don't know I would ever classify my kids as "Hood Rats" but until my kids know how much you care they won't give a rats rear end how much you know, and they don't have the type of upbringing that fosters respect for those who haven't earned it.

Amen! Preach it! Our students don't disrespect people because of their skin color; they disrespect people who they don't know personally. That's not necessarily a good thing, but it's the way it is.

  22. Please tell me why Linda Davis parked in a handicapped space, no license plate, no hangtag visible on her car. Meanwhile I watched a teacher with crutches hobble in from the back of the lot.
Why wasn't she ticketed and towed?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Because she is Linda Davis and she feels a sense of entitlement!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. She is setting quite a good example. Screw everyone else and their silly rules, too.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh, so she cares more about herself and what she wants than anyone else?

  26. Does anyone realize if a teacher was suspected of alcohol abuse, they could be required to have a breathalyzer test or a blood test and fired immediately if in violation? I don't believe administration is exempt either, and given the track record of Ms. Davis, it's about time the whistle is blown loud and clear. If the rest of you at BR are tired of it, it's time to start documenting it. Since she's so willing to hustle people out of the building, the least you can is to return the favor. It's amazing what cell phones can do in terms of video and audio recording. Since the Star is hand-in-pocket with admin, I'm sure the TV stations would love to have a bunch of sound and video bites :-)

  27. Mrs. Davis does not come to school drunk!

    (She just stays home.)

  28. Lmfao. She shore do!

  29. Dr. White told the elementary teachers that the middle and high school teachers were stupid?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Last year, he did the same thing, only with a PowerPoint.

That information was later reinforced during an elementary math workshop.

    But, the default is SSDD.

  31. It is almost impossible to leave a comment on Annie Roof's blog. Maybe that is good since she is a school board member.

  32. It requires a few more steps to post on there. There shouldn't be any problem with posting on there as long as it's kept polite and civil. No reason why dirty linen couldn't be aired as long as it's stated properly, without rancor, and there is sufficient data to back it up. A reasonable assumption would be to privately email her with heavier reports, although I would do it from an anonymous email account and make damn sure it still couldn't be traced back to you.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Her blog is interesting to read but I would not post anything on it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If everyone would stop hiring all their family members and paying them top dog money maybe would would have enough left over to teach the kids. Look at the higher ups. Heck Giles was let go at his last school, well now we have him. The fake ass Judge was going to be fired for the same crap she is doing here, well lets hire her. IPS has all the rejects while good teachers and other staff sit on the side and watch it go down the drain. GO DR WHITE HIRE SOME MORE REJECTS

  35. Does anyone know what's happening on the blog here? The last tthread seems to be blocked and I can't get some information off of it. I click on the comments and the page locks up. This seems to be the only page left open.
