What does any of this have to do with IPS?
ReplyDeleteWith the way that Eugene White has wasted the bond issue for IPS, those of us who live in IPS would have been beter off to vote against it. It has been a shameful waste and mismangement of epic proportions. No wonder the county treasurer included a note in my tax bill that the increase in my taxes was a result of the IPS referendum.
ReplyDeleteThis thread belongs on either beechgroveb-s, perryb-s, or franklinb-s.
ReplyDeleteNot here.
If you don't like it, create okne for BG or Perry or Franklin.......in any case, please quit whining.
ReplyDeleteIt says what we all know....many, many, many Hoosiers do not value education. Is this shocking?
ReplyDeleteBeech Grove went to the parents and voters and thoroughly presented the facts and got overwhelming approval. I think the lesson to be learned is to not make outrageous requests and to fully explain what the money will be used for. Both Beech Grove and Wishard did that and won easily.
ReplyDeleteI agree with "Beech Grove went to..." The days of willy-nilly spending on education are coming to an end. IPS is the worst example of this. All that freaking money (education spending, adjusted for inflation, has more than tripled in the last 40 years with very little change in performance), and very little of it trickles down to teachers and kids. Parents and voters are as sick of it as we are.
ReplyDeleteMy father was on the school board where I grew up.
ReplyDeleteThey got about 7 bond and operating issues passed, and they were up front about everything. Finally they ran an 8th bond issue to build another new school (baby boom times) and this time they did one for construction only, then they did a second issue to furnish and equip the school, it passed but they never got another one passed for at least ten years.
Bad topic choice. Booooo. Pick something about IPS.
ReplyDeleteYou think that school decisions near IPS might never have an impact on IPS?
ReplyDeleteWhat small-minded people you commenters must be.
I think people care about education as much as almost anywhere. It's just that no one wants to be the one to pay for it, especially in these times. Wish it wasn't true, but it is.
Here is what I want discussed--ARE WE GETTING PAID TOMORROW ? Anyone see the email from Bewley? We are usually handed our checks in the morning, whay are we waiting until after 10:30--it sounds fishy to me!
ReplyDeleteAnother payroll problem, and it is bad news for anyone with automatic payments, I need at least 48 hours notice to cancel these payments through my bank. Thanks IPS.
ReplyDeleteBoth our retro and regular pay are coming on live checks tomorrow.
I hope someone gets fired for this latest payroll mess.
ReplyDeleteI got my retro check today and it was not correct. It was an actual check. Rumor is that payroll had paychecks so screwed up for tomorrow that they made the decision to notify everyone that no direct deposits will be made tomorrow....I feel sorry for people who have automatic deductions etc. Looks like more NSF fees for IPS employees. Let Eugene White explain this one.......
ReplyDeleteI have no idea where to pickup my check? Who do I call to find out who is holding my check? Talk about one heck of a mess, well the "Wobble Bobbled-Headed" Board will vote a huge bonuse to payroll for a great job! Teachers need to slam the jerks,
ReplyDeleteChecks will be at the buildings tomorrow morning, I believe.
ReplyDeleteI spent three hours on the phone tonight, pleading my case to creditors and our mortgage company. We live solely on direct deposit/electronic debit.
I wasted three hours of my life...thanks IPS!
The checks will arrive in the buildings tomorrow. Our principal is allowing those who need to get their checks deposited immediately to go to the bank during their preps, lunch, or whenever they can get someone to cover their class.
ReplyDeleteThey knew this payroll mess was coming for days but gave employees no warning. This is all because the lame IT department recommended an accounting system that does not meet the needs of the district. The HR people made the mess worse by not responding the warnings they were getting from payroll and accounting that the system did not work!! Wait thill they screw up our W2's!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo where but IPS would this continuing pay check mess be tolerated. Teachers and school boards in other districts would raise hell. Too bad we have a do nothing bobble head school board. We need to change that in May.
ReplyDeleteOnce again IPS Teachers have been screwed!!! Where the hell is IEA when you need them???? This paycheck mishap is unacceptable and the individual or individuals responsible for this should be fired immediately!!!! If it were a teacher they would be reprimanded for sure. Someone downtown in payroll needs to be held accountable for messing around with people's money. IPS knew about this weeks ago but yet we were only given less than a 24 hrs. notice. Some grievances need to be filed immediately!!!! IPS SUCKS!!!! This is BULLS_ _T!!!!!!!!! Was IEA even notified about this in advance??? Maybe IEA knew about this before we did.........makes you wonder!
ReplyDeleteThis payroll mistake is another way for IPS to prolong paying us our Retroactive Pay!!! They are stalling for as long as they can. What do they think......... that teachers are volunteering their time and talents for free? We want payment for services rendered!!!!! RIGHT NOW!!!!!
ReplyDelete"This paycheck mishap is unacceptable and the individual or individuals responsible for this should be fired immediately!!!!"
ReplyDeleteThey've already fired the lowest level file clerk in payroll, now they are going to have to find the next lowest level person. It couldn't possibly be the fault of someone higher up!
Finding my check today was like a scavenger hunt. Lots of maybe it is at School ?? or maybe at School## or it could have been mailed. Payroll must have had their phones off the hooks as it was impossible to get anything but a busy signal. If IEA doesn't step in to stop this incompetent Payroll Department from screwing up our checks, I am going to drop my membership.
ReplyDeleteI'm a first year teacher who received a retro check.Ttwo years ago, I wasn't even student teaching yet!!You go IPS!!!!!
ReplyDeletePerry Towhship's bond issue of $100 million was a huge joke, too many sweet heart deals with different suppliers. Glad the voters spoke out during a recession.
