From Friday's Indianapolis Star
Three Manual High School students were arrested Friday for allegedly conducting a marijuana deal on campus, school officials said.
One of the students, a 17-year-old, also faces a gun charge after officials found a loaded .25-caliber handgun in his pocket, Indianapolis Public Schools spokeswoman Mary Louise Bewley said in a statement.
School officials were alerted after a student told a teacher he had witnessed a drug deal. School police rounded up the three students and found each was carrying marijuana, the release said.
All three were charged with possession of marijuana. One faces additional charges of carrying a handgun without a license on school property, escape and resisting arrest, Bewley said.
The school did not release the ages of the other students. All three were suspended pending expulsion, Bewley said.
Common, these three students were bottom feeders, thugs with only a .25 caliber! Most of my students carry their Glocks with pride, as its a way of life for many of the students. Many of my students are headed to prison and might be able to room with their brothers, fathers, uncles, or cousins. Dr. White has done nothing better for IPS than look like a fool in the red Gucci slippers. Mary Louise please let the public know where the red shoes Gucci or Prada shoes? Dr. White, you are just a class act for the Pimp Daddy style.
ReplyDeleteWhat do we do with staff members who bring drugs to school?
ReplyDeleteI am sure that this is a direct result of us teachers not doing our jobs.
ReplyDeleteThe reward for not being able to get this school under control and safe is that Rocky gets a big promotion downtown. Maybe someone will be principal who can follow through on discipline policies and bring sanity to the chaos at Manual.
ReplyDeleteI hear Manuel is wildly out of control, so much so the teachers fear for their personal safety.
ReplyDeleteAnother IPS high school student arrested on campus. From yesterday's Indy Star:
ReplyDelete"An 18-year-old who reportedly heated a bottle for a crying baby during a home invasion and robbery last week was charged Thursday, police said.
Robert Coleman, Indianapolis, was taken into custody Tuesday at Arlington High School, said Sgt. Paul Thompson, spokesman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Coleman was being held at the Marion County Jail on charges of robbery, burglary, confinement and pointing a firearm."
Tech is out of control just as much as Manual. The discipline deans there do nothing and ignore reports from us and do not follow the superintendent's discipline policy or enforce the superintendent's dress code. The principal is clueless and just rambles on and on at meetings. Students at Tech are being cheated out of the opportunity to get a good education due to the disruptions and unsafe conditions.
ReplyDeleteThe Behavior Dean at Marshall is doing a good job. She is no nonsense when kids are sent to her office. If the teacher has documented an incident and made a call (or attempted a call), then the kid is suspended. She and the principal are working from the same page.
ReplyDeleteI am a teacher at Manual and I do not fear for my safety at all.The teachers and school police work well together. Subs compliment us on the aatmosphere at Manual. It is not due to the administration, but rather to the teachers.
ReplyDeleteYeah. The dean at Marshall is No-nonsense with a wopping 300 kids to deal with. (See their website for the numbers.) There were over 900 there last year and it was out of control as soon as Jeff White left. He had "laid down the law" and successfully. In typical IPS fashion, he was disposed of quickly.
ReplyDeleteoh, yes...those poor horrible teachers at Manual are to blame for the school being out of control. those poor horrible Manual teachers are uncaring and lazy.....ENOUGH of that administrative mantra........There are lots of good teachers at Manual.......when will the teacher bashing stop? Probably not until the head basher Eugene White is gone
ReplyDeleteJane Kendrick ,,,,is that you AGAIN???
ReplyDelete300 kids at John Marshall??? Jeffrey White did something that Jane Kendricks and Prudence Bridgewaters could not tolerate. Jeffrey White, Vivica Carter, and Karen Hastings made John Marshall a good school by challenging authority. It was senseless of Gene White to trust Bridgewaters. Stupid is what stupid does.
ReplyDeleteAbout the Marshall comment: I had friends who have worked at Shortridge and Coleman with the current principal there. You mean to tell me he is not being buddy-buddy with the kids or letting discipline referrals pile up into the 60's and 70's before he suspends? Amazing!
ReplyDeleteI bet the kids won't be expelled. They never are.
ReplyDeleteHow did they keep the Northwest staff memeber's pot bust off the record?
