Hey.....what do you think of the meal arrangements for the workshop today? SURPRISE!

Yes, let's all bring food to share, and we can get to know each other while knoshing.

When do we get to park INSIDE the razorwire?

Which workshop? What happens if you don't cook, we had to cut back on expenses, so the cook was laid off. I can purchase something from the deli, if I am given 24 hour notice. Oh I can cook a bagel, that is it, really.

Can teachers be written up as being insubordinate if we decide not to go to listen to "Pimp Daddy White" show off his long zipper and tailored made suit and matching shoes? Several teachers told me that they missed a couple of the back to school convocations and that no one even noticed they were not there.

    ReplyDelete
  32. AnonymousJune 30, 2010

I know several educators who took half a personal day, then worked in their rooms on their own time.

Last year, our bus driver was told to stay at our school, since there was a logjam at Tech. Several of us drove, and missed the Willie Giles part of the show. When the remainder of our staff entered, Mary Louise stopped several and asked why they were late. Thank God, we were all fortunate in seeing the fashionista that is Dr. White.

So, our choice....ride in AC and see most of the circus, or stick to bus seats and get griped at.

Back in the stoneage, we sat in our library (we didn't have media centers then) and watched/listened as James Adams give his Back to School Hip Hip Hooray speech.

Too bad technology hasn't progressed to the point that an address could be conducted from a central location, maybe CIRT, and sent, via wires, cell towers, or mental telapathy, to our Media Centers. But that would be logical, saving thousands of dollars in bus fuel, maintenance, and time to travel.

    Just wondering.

It is not about the information that is presented, it is a show of power, I CAN MAKE YOU DO WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO. It is nothing but an exhibition of his supposes personal will, and to remind you that you are nothing.

"Power has only one duty --to secure the social welfare of the People."
    Benjamin Disraeli

    "Will minus intellect constitutes vulgarity."
    Arthur Schopenhauer

"Power does not corrupt men; fools, however, if they get into a position of power, corrupt power." George Bernard Shaw

    Dear Shortridge Parent:

Thank you for reaching out to Butler University with your concern. I sent it along to IPS’ Director of Community Relations, Mary Louise Bewley. She asked that I share this response with you.

I'm sorry that your faith in Shortridge and the high quality education it provides has been shaken based on the anti-IPS blog posts you've seen. I know you want the best education -- and role models -- available to your child. Please consider before seeking a change in schools how your child is performing academically and how she feels about Shortridge. Please also know that IPS does not discuss personnel issues in public. That is unfair to all parties concerned. Unfortunately, people with an axe to grind visit this blog and set aside the best interests of students by making comments about which they have little to no knowledge. They hurt adults' reputations and careers, and they hurt students by their thoughtless posts. You are of course always free to seek a new placement for your child, but I hope you will talk to you child first to see if this is indeed the best solution for your family.

    Mary Louise Bewley
Director, IPS School and Community Relations

I don't understand why Bobby Fong, President of Butler, even wants to be affiliated with this cesspool created by Eugene White and the do nothing bobbleheads on the board. Don't be surprised if there is a severing of relations as IPS continues to bury their heads in the sand about the actions of the prinicpal and the refusal of the School Board to even address the issue. I know that several other Shortridge parents are removing their children from the hell hole now known as Shortridge. I would image that the alums of Shortridge are mortified.

So, out of curiousity, does Dr. White lock the doors at his start of the school year staff meeting? When he was at Washington Township, he would lock the doors so people couldn't come in late without getting caught...and also had people watching for those trying to sneak out.

One year, the fire alarm went off in the middle of his speech. When people got up to evacuate, he went balistic and demanded that everyone stay.

Hmmm...I guess that may be the only way his career ends- when a large part of his staff dies in a fire while he continues to talk with his flame-retardant clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  42. AnonymousJuly 01, 2010

How can any adult find this place funny? I teach 7th and 8th graders, and I think most of them would find the "humor" here beneath them. Occasionally, it's mildly informative. I've seen a little wit here and there. But the venom on this site is sociopathic. I'm not even exaggerating. If only the people posting it could be identified, they could be diagnosed and treated.

And, yes, it's a "little wit".

To the poster above, I'm a parent of an IPS student (at a magnet school), and I have a question about your post. Approximately how long does an IPS teacher usually teach before publicly insulting and mocking people becomes funny? Or are you saying that the ones with more integrity/maturity escape from teaching IPS?

    ReplyDelete
  49. AnonymousJuly 01, 2010

One must bring a healthy sense of humor to the occupation, and keep it intact past the interview and into the classroom.

I actually think all the insulting posts are the same person. They use the same phrasing and make the same spelling and grammatical errors in their posts. While it's obviously shameful to post the things he/she does, it makes me feel better that it's likely just one nutcase rather than a real group of public teachers like the poster tries to pretend. Eventually, we'll have real conversations again when school starts back up.

Quoting the ultimate Parrot Head, Jimmy Buffet, "If we did not laugh, we'd all go insane."

We're not laughing at the students or the parents, but rather, we're laughing at the system itself. For those of us who have worked in other school districts, IPS gives us lots to laugh about.

By and large, administrators in IPS could never be hired as administrators in other school districts. Think on these words -- Can you imagine Prudence Bridgwaters, Jane Kendrick, Phyllis Barnes, Jackie Greenwood, Willie Giles, Jerry McLeish, Dexter Suggs, or Cassandra Shipp even being asked to interview with another school district, such as HSE, Zionsville, Noblesville, etc.? Of course not, you're laughing to yourself. This is the humor we teachers see each day in our work within IPS.

As long as we teachers have less than 5 years in IPS, the top school districts are eager to have us join their ranks. Not so with the IPS administrators because they usually received their positions based upon their levels of incompetence which means that Dr. White has them by their 'balls'. Dr. White also has a shovel load of dirt on each of his top level admin people which he uses to keep them doing his bidding without question.

Finding humor in ridiculing others is pathological. That's not me judging you. That's a fact, verifiable through the DSM-IV Manual of Mental Disorders. It's not like having a beer after work. It's not like watching the three stooges. It's not like finding humor in bathroom jokes or other "low-brow" comedy. It's disturbing, antisocial behavior that demonstrates your tendency to mentally dehumanize the people who distress you. The fact that you think it's believable that there would be this whole group of teachers who all just sit around and giggle at this kind of thing shows just how far from reality you really are. I disagree with Bewley's assessment of you as an ax-grinder. It might have started out that way, but at this point, it's beyond that. You're dangerous and you need help. I sincerely pray that you find that help.

@@I've posted this before, but obviously some of you missed it

Balogna! I've posted from my house in Indiana; however, I use a MiFi, a portable hot spot, located in my home office. The source code for my MiFi comes from small town in Central Pennsylvania. I'm writing now from out of state using a Satellite Internet connection. When I used a DSL or Cable Internet connection, my ISP Address was not static, it changed each time I logged onto the Internet.

The most your husband could know is that a post originated from a certain ISP, but not the exact computer on the ISP.

    ReplyDelete
  72. AnonymousJuly 02, 2010

To the above poster, you are trying to sell a bizarre theory about computers to take advantage and intimidate people who might want to post......there is absolutely no truth in you post about source code and telling who posts what......go peddle your bullying tactics somewhere else. This is a teacher blog to help expose the corruption in IPS.

    ReplyDelete
  73. AnonymousJuly 02, 2010

My husband isn't here to ask right now, but I think the blog ID in the source code has more to do with computer cookies than ISPs. Most people don't clear cookies every time they visit a website. You do (or use a scrambler, whichever you do.) So in most of these threads, there are 7 or 8 unique posters and then dozens of unique IDs that share a common attitude and theme. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude that these posts are from the same person. The other option (that there is a group of similar-minded inflammatory posters who all use a scrambler or delete cookies every time they post, while not a single one of the non-inflammatory posters do this) seems pretty far-fetched.)

RE: "I've posted this before, but obviously some of you missed it."

What did you smoke for breakfast? Source code refers to the HTML code of each web page, not the MAC (not apple) address identifying each computer in the world uniquely. (Go to "view" and "source" in Internet Explorere. That is source code. The source ID of each poster appears in the source code but it seems to be a number generated by this website, not based on the MAC address. Go ahead administrators, prove I posted my personal opinion from my home computer. Oh yeah, that is a RIGHT I have isn't it? You are obviously a minion of the red-shoed one and you must like to make up stories like he does. And if there WAS any truth to your crap then there would have been some sort of backlash by the Adminsitration by now. But there has not been has there? When hubby is back from your dealer's house, tell him to put down the pipe for a day or two and the haze will clear right up.

I think what she (and/or her husband) were talking about wasn't unique computer ID, but being able to tell when the same poster is posting one or more posts. And I'm pretty much a computer moron, and I can tell that from the source code. The blogmaster also used the same technique to identify Annie Roof once (Annie had posted her name in one post, and then later in the thread had posted anonymously but could be identified as the same poster who posted the previous post that had her name in it.

But yeah, nobody can identify an actual computer through source code.
