IPS Fight Club

There have been a lot of comments about fights in IPS. IPS B.S. has taken all those links and put them here for your amusement or outrage.

Fight.

Another fight.

Yet another fight.

And another fight.

Dancing administrators.

  1. I'm sorry to change the topic for a moment, but I was curious about the staff meeting at School 60. In a prior post on the blog, it was said that Dr. White would be in attendance at the meeting last week. What happened at the meeting?

  2. To whoever flagged these videos so they would be taken down, you're a class act. I clicked on one of the links specifically so that I could sign up to YouTube and flag the videos (they are illegal), and they were already gone. Thank you.

IPS B.S. will have to stick to exploiting adults and leave kids out of it.

  3. Actually, one of them is still up. Bug I just flagged it, so hopefully it will be gone soon. I agree that IPS B.S. should be ashamed of itself. But I guess the silver lining is that by posting it here, some of the more responsible adults were able to get this garbage off of the Internet.

  4. IPS needs to hire an official YouTube 'flagger' because deleting all the IPS fight videos is a full time job.

Frankly one of these responsible adults posting here needs to spend more time instructing the students about the 'dangers' of putting their stuff on the Internet. Simply deleting the videos doesn't teach the kids anything. Adults already know it's garbage; but do the kids? Tell them it's garbage; keep telling them.

From inside the halls during school time, Arlington high school fight recently uploaded by one of the kids who announces on the video that it's going on YouTube:

  5. Kids think like kids. They lack insight into the enormity of posting youth violence on the Internet. Adults are supposed to have more insight than kids. That's why there are laws to protect kids from their own poor decisions (like posting illegal videos online). Sadly, many (such as the blogmaster) lack such insight.

  6. I remember my grandmother's telling me "Fools names and fools faces are often found in public places."

This was long before we had the Internet; however, at that time, it meant not to write your name inside a public bathroom, telephone booth, etc.

My grandmother lacked a formal education (got as far as the 8th grade) and was, by most standards, dirt poor, but she managed to instill some important values into all her children and her grandchildren. It doesn't take money or education to train your kids in the basics of civil society.

  7. I agree. We are 100% sure the blogmaster's parents failed to instill the basic of civil society. The jury is still out on the kids who post these videos. Because they are kids and kids (even well-raised kids) are often impulsive and short-sighted. My grandmother lacked formal education as well. She had a saying too. "You can't put a man's head on a boy's shoulders."

  8. Perhaps the real problem here is the lack of concern by Eugene White and his minions to the problems of violence in the schools. If the time they spent trying to coverup the fights could be spent in addressing the problems of the fights then there might be progress. But Eugene White doesn't care. He is not in the classrooms or halls when the fights are happening.

  18. This 6 minutes and 19 seconds is absolutely rich! Some student at Tech is filming inside a classroom for over six minutes where the students are doing nothing. The teacher is hanging out at her desk (wearing the blue jacket) and is oblivious to everything.

  25. Sarah Bogard and her administrative staff at Tech High School should be embarrassed. Actually they should all be fired for incompetence.

  26. To the person who created this blog, thank you for showing us what is really going within the walls of the schools. Dr. White has been lying for years.

  27. The filming of fights by students does provide us with graphic documentation of what occurs within our IPS high schools. Without these bits of visual documentation, we'd never believe how out of control some of our hallways are.

If an event, good or bad, is not recorded, then for all practical purposes it did not happen and can be pushed under the rug, so to speak. Indeed, seeing is believing.

  28. Just a public service announcement -- there is only one blog member who supports these videos. One person is posting several posts pretending to be different people. So parents and taxpayers -- please don't think that we all support posting or sharing violent videos of kids because most of us are absolutely horrified.

  30. About School 60 - It is becoming an inclusive magnet using the Emellio Reggio Method. As Dr. White explained it to the staff "It's Montasori on crack". Beginning in Fall of 2011 this Butler Program will start with K-1 and add a grade each year. 60's staff will be broken up a little at a time. This year's K students will be the last group of students that can complete K-6 at 60. We have worked so hard this year developing Units for our Science Magnet. Dr. White said that he hopes to have another Science Magnet in 3 years. The Magnet office people were always in our building, but we haven't seen them since the first of February. IPS has paid some outside consultants to work wit 60 to develop our units. They were suppose to be at 60 tomorrow and Friday. They will not be there after all. There goes IPS wasting money again.

  31. Will this Reggio method be like the one from northern Italy.

  32. With all the fights and other disreguards for education how will IPS control students with less police at schools IMPD isnt going to deal with the drama. maybe the ROTC classes will be issued weapons to keep control.
