Candidate Forum

If you are a candidate for school board, IPS B.S. is happy to take your positions on education issues and post them here. Send your summary to ipsbs@hotmail.com. There's no word limit, but we like to read "War and Peace" in front of a nice fire, not in front of our computer.

  1. I possess a freshly-tuned bobblehead.

I earned my Masters in Follow the Leader.

I can say, "Yes". "No" is not in my vocabulary.

I will not snicker, point, or laugh at pink slippers.

I will cheerfully endorse any line item that includes administrative positions/pay increases/travel expenses.

I can and will place blame on classroom educators for any and all lack of student progress.

I will vote to eliminate any program which is not supported by the superintendent.

If nominated, I shall run. If elected, I'll suit up and join the other lemmings, past, present, and future.

  3. Check on this blog site and see if you can find them. Might want to check Who's Running.

  4. Maybe they're others who've tossed their hats into the ring since the "Who's Running" topic.

Education functions best when teachers are supported, parents are involved, and students are engaged!

  9. Leroy Robinson--

Mediocre school board member and rubber stamp for Eugene White 2007-08

Parent of two students who attend school in Pike Township NOT IPS.

    Teaches in Pike Township

Used to teach in Lawrence Township

And from what I hear from former students--not a very good social studies teacher.

  10. Well, geez! We want (strongly encourage) people to run for the Board. When they do, we jump at the first chance to attack them.
IPS teachers, parents, and others criticize the current Board members because they have given us multiple reasons and opportunities to do so.
Give those that are running a chance!

  11. Was Leroy Robinson an IPS Board member from 2007-2008? Has he already been an IPS Board member at another time?

  15. Roy Schroeder is insane. Anyone ever see him without Susan Pattee at his side? What's up with that?

    ReplyDelete
  16. He doesn't sound insane to me. He asks hard questions and if that qualifies a person for insanity, then we need a few more good insane men or women on the IPS Board.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Speaking of insanity; the person who posted the snide remark about Susan Pattee being by Roy Schroeder's side is crazy. Susan is a very professional and dedicated IPS teacher and she evidently sees that Mr. Schroeder is someone who can bring some balance to the board and is supportive of him. To insinuate anything else is completely unfounded and a cheap shot.

  18. Check the slate of people running for IPS Board seats. Look for Jeff White's wife among those running.

  19. Roy Schroeder is not insane, Mary Louise, he is furious. Mr. Schroeder eats bobble-heads like you for breakfast!

  20. Roy is planning to eat the likes of Mary Louise. Praise God! I knew God was good.

  21. William Jackson has been doing a great job working in the community and within the schools. He is currently running for IPS At-Large. www.weloveips.com

  22. Check out http://www.forkner-for-ips.com/

I think you will find that Justin Forkner shares the same ideas and thoughts.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I went to Justin Forkner's website, and I like what he stands for -- he's young, smart, and passionate about making our schools better! And he's been in the military serving our country, and now we wants to serve our schools...who could ask for more?

I agree with the post above! Check it out! http://www.Forkner-For-IPS.com

  24. The election is a week from today and as an educator within IPS, I'm supporting and voting for William Jackson for school board at-large. He knocked on my door last week and talked to my husband and I for nearly a hour. I love his vision and his passion for IPS.

Roy Schroeder has a vested interest as an IPS parent and resident. He's a busy man and wants to make IPS the school district the city of Indianapolis deserves. There are many, many great teachers in IPS. The administration of IPS is bloated and self serving. Meanwhile, money for actual programs and resources for teachers is being squandered. And why? Keep doing business the same way and get the same results.
    VOTE FOR ROY SCHROEDER!
