Arlington has been on a steep downhill skid for the past 2 decades. Thanks Dr Greenwood.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Dr. Greenwood: Rumor heard over the weekend was that Dr. Greenwoods son is going to be vice principal over at Washington starting in Jan.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know if this is true?
According to the latest board report, yes, Corey Greenwood will be the Washington VP.
ReplyDeleteAmos was letting Dexter Suggs have it. Someone is going to get hurt.
ReplyDeleteAmos was commenting on a email from a lady stating that her home has been broken in to and students from Lawrence Central and Arlington are to blame. Amos is still made at Suggs because he did not allow IPS buses to air 96.3 or 100.7 due to the content.
ReplyDeleteCome on - - we need a good topic to discuss. Enough with all of the dumb stuff.
Did Jackie Greenwood hire her own son to be the vice principal at Arlington? Since Eugene White hired his son at Tech, it is obvious that the spineless school board is no longer enforcing the nepotism policy.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone hear about the continuing insanity at #43? This week Mrs. Kamona Coleman-McDowell fired the parent liason. (sp?) No one can really understand why? This is a woman with 6(?) children and with a pacemaker. To everyone in the building, she was nothing but helpful and hard working. Once again, is there no stopping this out of control principal? Word has it, that the person she fired will be getting a lawyer and suing. I hope she does!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow can she sue for being fired? Unless it was discriminatory, of course, but you didn't mention that.
ReplyDeleteKamona also had her secretary fired last year too. It has been stated before that you either do what she says, or you get run over. She does what she wants, with no consequences. She needs to GO!!!
ReplyDeleteKamona McDowell had 4 grievances filed against her last year. She is a bully and she is incompetent.
ReplyDeleteAn array of teachers at Arlington have requested transfers or just walked out. Don't forget that Gene White's son and Dexter both attend IWU, the "pay for degree' factory of Indiana. Gene White loves dumb folks who or loyal to him. They don't know any better.
ReplyDeleteOh, they know better. They just don't care. They know that the are not doing things the honest way. Dr. White surrounds himself with friends, because he has no other people supporting him.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the people in positions of power are positioning others to take their places. I have no first hand knowledge of Dr. Greenwood's son but he got a hefty raise last night, almost as much as a beginning teacher makes "Corey Greenwood, to GWCHS with a raise of $31,083" Part of the problem with IPS is too much inbreeding, I have a friend who calls it the taco bell of school systems, same 7 ingredients arranged different ways, but in reality no matter what you buy you are still getting the same seven things.
ReplyDeleteWe can not submit any documents requesting to be transfered until March 2010. I teach at a middle school, but I have heard that Arlington has removed a lot of teachers (sent to be subs) due to their lack of performance.
ReplyDeleteMarch 1, 2010 is the deadline for HR to have received your transfer request. As for Arlington, don't believe anything from a school where the principal has a doctoral degree from Indiana Weslyan..a place some people claim is a diploma mill.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that every single teacher at #43 puts in for a transfer. It is well known that the prinicpal is a bully, but teachers just stand by and let this outrageous behavior go on. How many more people have to be unjustly fired, forced out, forced to take medical leave, or rights trampled on before everyone stands up and says enough. Just because you put in for a transfer doesn't mean that you will get one. Nor does it mean that you have to take the move if one is offered. But don't you think it would send a message to downtown? We can't continue to sit back and say that nothing we do will help. If the heat gets turned up enough, whoever is covering for Mrs. MCDowell will drop her like a hot potatoe.
