Anyone Seen Doris?

Has anyone seen Doris Minton-McNeil?

  1. No, the last time I saw Doris was when her mugshot was in the Indy Star. She was minus her wig, and it was difficult to recognize her.

  2. Reading the first post, I'd say that Doris is Online and is well into her evening's quota of Margarita's. Don't mess with Doris; she be actin' all funky and crazy.

  3. No, but I heard that the principal at #46 (#346 now) had a stroke last week at work. They really are trying to kill us, aren't they?

  4. No disrepect or pun intended, but perhaps the Principal had a 'stroke' of good luck. He/she now has a legit reason to stay home.

Joking aside, I'm sorry for the person and wish them a full recovery.

  5. I wish we would leave Doris alone. She has always been a friend of teachers and has been supportive. I am assuming that she is seeking medical attention for her medical problem. I certainly hope so. She is a good person. It is her misfortune to have to work in the den of snakes, liars and thieves.

  6. What is Doris's medical problem? I didn't know she was ill.

Then we should all be taking up heavy drinking, would you be a sympathetic if she had indeed run down the mother and seven week old baby?

  8. LOL, laughing out loud, Doris has been and is an example of the kind of employee IPS enables for what reason I don't know. What does she have that protects her after three (?) incidents? It is disgusting, shame on her; living in a den of snakes etc. isn't an excuse to drink and drive, drink and attack police, drink and lose control of your vehicle.

  9. "...would you be a sympathetic if she had indeed run down the mother and seven week old baby?"

This is something we'd not heard about -- running down a mother and a baby! Was Doris driving or on foot? Seriously, what's the scoop on this?

All I ever heard about Doris was about her run in with the police officers at her home when she called the cops to 'shoo out' a supposed child molestor from her house. She was drunk, shoved the lady cop, was arrested, and then peed in the cop's car on the way to jail. This story was all over the local TV news.

  10. Maybe IPS Ed Center wants to protect Doris because of her political connections. She's a City-County Counsel Person, and it might look bad on the Democrats if she was fired from her IPS job.

  11. Doris does seem to have issues. This is the second time she has been featured negatively in the news.

  12. First of all, The judge found her not guilty on all charges. No charges have been filed in the second incident. She appears to have a medical condition and I hope is getting treatment. She is a good person who treat people well and in the Ed. Center that is hard to find.

  13. To IPS B.S. and those who write on this blog:

I am an IPS graduate and retired IPS teacher. I have been a supporter of IPS and a follower of the history of the district since 1968. I remember in 1969 when teachers felt no one at 120 East Walnut would listen and created an underground newspaper they called "Ipso Facto." Of course it is now defunct, but it was a viable force in inner-IPS politics. Each time it came out, many IPS employees experienced a sense of empowerment and freedom.

It appears the same situation has arisen today in that some IPS teachers have created a place/space for many IPS staff to air their thoughts, concerns and grievances. Throughout history where there was a political climate that suppressed decent, this kind of communications arose because people had no voice otherwise

The initial response to this blog topic, “Has anyone seen Doris?” (though risqué to say the least) was perhaps in bad taste, yet not unnecessary. Personally I don’t like the “f___ __“ and the “bang___” references. Nonetheless, the fact that this blog is a space for such reactions is refreshing especially with respect to the insecure micro-managed regimes of Zendejas, Pritchett and White.

I love IPS B.S.! Keep up the good work...the blog is needed...it may have its detractors and jerks, but it is needed...

  14. Eugene White has been featured in the news negatively lots of times and Prudence Bridgewaters spans decades of newspaper articles about her mean and hateful demeanor and accusations about her honesty.

  15. It appears two local Democratic elected officials are running afoul of the law.

First Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are investigating City-County Councilor Doris Minton-McNeil over a possible hit and run incident three days ago. Police were called Saturday to the 2000 block of Medford because a woman had called 9-1-1 saying McNeil was driving a green Trailblazer and nearly ran over the woman’s daughter and her seven-week old granddaughter, had alcohol in the car and yelled obscenities at the woman.

Police went to McNeil’s home where they say she would not answer at first and McNeil’s sister had to convince her to open the door. Officers say McNeil smelled of alcohol and her speech was slurred. McNeil said she had been home all day, however officers noted her engine was warm and there were fresh skid marks in the street. While talking with McNeil officers noticed the front of her vehicle showed some damage consistent with a hit run. Officers are investigating whether McNeil might have been involved with an accident at IPS’ parking lot.

McNeil was recently acquitted of charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

  16. Doris has a medical condition called substance abuse. Her drug of choice is alcohol. Perhaps her absence is because she's undergoing treatment for substance abuse. If so, I wish her well.

  17. "President Obama will be speaking on Tuesday, September 8 to schoolchildren. His remarks will be carried live from noon to 12:30 on IPS Television Channel 11. It is up to teachers to decide if they would like to participate in this event." (Copy and paste from today's 1:22 PM email message from Mary Louise Bewley)

Who is planning to watch this broadcast with their classes? Who is not planning to watch this broadcast? What are your thoughts about this upcoming broadcast?

Has anyone seen the lesson plans that supposedly accompany this video broadcast from President Obama?

  20. We are lucky to have a president who is talking to our nation's students about the importance of working hard in school and staying in school.
