Shake Em Up

Anyone hear about the big shake up that's reportedly coming down the pike at the Central Office later this year? The ISTEP scores are supposedly really dismal and some folks are getting fired.

  1. There is a "shake up" every year and every year the administration gets bigger and the poster children for the Peter Principle are still around.

  2. If you believe there will be a "Shake up", I have a bridge and/or some property in Florida I would to sell you. After 20 years of IPS it seems the only change is in the additional personnel at the Walnut St. building.
Oh, wait..... If anyone should be demoted, they will probably be sent to the schools as a TOSA or better yet, get a new position and a raise and, of course, an administrative assistant and she gets an clerical assistant.

  3. Has anyone heard about the HUGE payroll snafu for this pay period??? Lots and lots and lots of teachers will not be paid tomorrow. And, what ever happened to that "raise" we were supposed to get on our first check for this school year??? Pushed back, I hear. Who is surprised? Angry? Revengeful?

  4. Please, Dr. White if this comes to fruition, fire somebody's ass! We can't endure this every other payroll.

  5. Where is the Union? They need to file a lawsuit against IPS. No other organiztion could get away with this.

  6. I checked my bank account Online and see that I was paid. It's the exact same amount as before the raise was announced.

  7. As reported by Jane Ajabu in an email sent out yesterday..........our pay raise increases will be on the September 25th paycheck. This is ridiculous!!! We were told the pay raise would be on the last check in August.........once again the union has partnered with Dr. White. The Union is not doing anything about this matter or taking care of business for teachers. This is not right and it just wouldn't go on in other school districts..............IPS is so ass backwards!!

  8. "ridiculous", exactly what the good Doctor said about Kelley's request to look at the budget in detail. according to the good Doctor Board members do not have the time or the expertise to understand the complex IPS finances. well, goodness Doctor, Thank You. the finances could not pass any accounting review, so no CPA could understand the games. would need a forensic accountant. downtown - it ain't about the kids, it ain't about the teachers, it is about the money. period. that is why the budget amounts released per school for the 2010 FY are such garbage. salaries are not correct so the rest of the numbers are equally suspect. not a final solution by any means but it would be a start to get some Board members that are willing to challenge these inept practice.

  9. So, are teachers just losing this money? If it was in the budget for August, then where is the money going,if they don't add past pays raises into the mix?

  11. I was one of the teachers at my school who did not get money direct deposited today. In the middle of the morning, our checks arrived. Check this out--my last three paychecks have all been for different amounts!

  12. Everyone continues to talk about the money situation and how poor it is, but who are we suppose to have help us? Certainly not the Union. I bet this whole mess is because IPS didn't pay enough money for help with Munis.

  13. Why can't they just give us paper checks? I'd rather have that than stress out every two weeks over whether or not my money was deposited. To hell with their "paperless" Munis system.

  14. Lots of other companies use Munis or similar systems with no problems. Remember Garbage In, Garbage Out. They either bought the wrong program or don't know how to use it. I have a second job and for at least the last six years everything has been paperless. We are paid weekly, our work week ends on Saturday, on Monday after 3:00 pm you can log on and see what your check will be the following Friday. I believe in the last six years there has been one error in my check and it was my fault, I forgot to sign in one day.
