Kudos To School #2

IPS' Center For Inquiry was named a blue ribbon school by the Department of Education. Kudos to all the teachers who work there. It would be nice if the rest of IPS could be like that.

  1. I'm just guessing here, but I'll bet those kids have parents who support their children, teachers and school.

  2. Funny that news about successful schools get buried in the back of the paper. School failure is front page news.

  4. Not to be argumentative or intrude on this blog, but I have had kids in my boundary IPS school and also CFI. While I agree that more parents are supportive of teachers and education at CFI versus the boundary school, it goes both ways. The teachers and school were more supportive of the parents at CFI. At the boundary school, teachers and office staff treated parents as inferiors or nuisances. CFI also has many ways of doing things that respect the time and preferences of parents and students (like giving out weekly homework, rather than daily homework, and letting students choose from several assignment choices in different subjects). So it's more than parents supporting teachers. There's this whole environment of cooperation between school, parents, teachers and students.

Either way, CFI has done a great job!!
