No oay as of the end of the school day on Wednesday..1 NSF for $35.
ReplyDeletePATHETIC! Where is Mary Louise?
ReplyDeleteSince I'm the one who criticized you for making too big of a deal out of this, I feel like it's only fair to admit that at this point, for most people, it would be a big deal. I would be spitting nails.
ReplyDeleteOh, we were suppose to be paid our last check for last year. Thought Dr. White was giving our last paycheck to goodwill or his clothing allowance or some IPS bank account charity.
ReplyDeleteChildren come first. Teachers pay comes last if at all apparently. (though my five children would sure like us to stop having left overs and peanut butter) Just keep telling them when I get paid.
I have four classes of over 45 in a core area classroom and another HR with 35, and then my last class has 3. Guess, all that work deserves nothing.
Why can the district not discuss numbers at the HS level? Feel like I am teaching more of a lecture hall than a classroom. Group work and discussion are out of the question with this large of classes. Oh, well Dr. White said films are O.K. in our HS meeting. SKIPS get ready for some orders from me. (just hope it does not cost)
"PATHETIC! Where is Mary Louise?"
ReplyDeleteI've never met Mary Louise; however, I feel that someone must speak in her defense on this issue.
We need to remain cognizant that the 'missing pay check snafu' is not her fault. It is a payroll issue.
I suspect Ms. Bewley sent the email re: missing pay checks simply because she was directed by an Ed Center administrator.
Let's not kill the messenger. The problem lies within the Payroll Department.
Why doesnt Mary Liar Bewley send us a followup email letting us know if we will ever be paid. I bet she got her check.
ReplyDeleteBetter yet, why doesn't the Payroll Supervisor send an email to all IPS employees explaining the current situation and giving those employees who did not receive a pay check a date when they can expect to be paid? Payroll is hiding behind everyone possible including Public Relations and Mary Louise Bewley.
ReplyDeletePayroll can only issue checks based on the information received from HR. Don't blame the gals in Payroll.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a pathetic blame game. Blame payroll, blame HR, blame Dr. White, blame Bewely, blame so and so.
ReplyDeleteWhere does the buck stop? Or is that the problem. It is everyone elses fault and no one wants to take responsibility?
In the meantime the teachers and their families are the ones getting hurt.
Well back to work (I do a second job after school here at the mall). Customers waiting.
I received my check today ....$56.00 short!!! I want an explanation. What guarantees do we have this won't happen again?
ReplyDeleteMy dad did the payroll for Bayer for, well, for my entire life and I'm almost 30. NEVER did he have to send anything through HR to pay someone. How can a multi-national, multi-billion dollar company pay people on time without having every department sign off, yet our school district can't? If I'm in the payroll system, clearly I'm an employee. Why do they have to check with HR? If I know longer work for IPS, they should remove me from the payroll system so that I don't get paid. Is it just me, or does this problem seem way too simple to not have a solution?
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't have mattered in the least if you were no longer with the system. This was the last payroll of last school year, it covered the final 7.3 days of school, way back in May.
ReplyDeleteUnless they wanted to cheat those who left the system either through retirement or resignation out of their final EARNED pay.
A little off topic. Superintendent requested a meeting with theh paents and staff of
ReplyDeleteShortridge H.S. One was scheduled on Aug. 19 at 6pm........As of 8pm, Eugene White has not appeared yet......maybe he is at SCIPS putting gas in his car.
hehehe
ReplyDeleteOh, come on! We are killing the messanger. Ms. Bewley needs employment as much as the rest of us. Give her a break!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he is over your mom's house doing her
ReplyDeleteIt's my first visit to this blog. Is this forum really being posted by teachers? Jeez! I wouldn't want my children in some of your classes. I understand that there was an issue with the paychecks, but throughout this blog, I see nothing but vile, nasty hatred. Unbelievable! Can someone explain to me who/what "central office" is? Is it part of IPS?
ReplyDelete"Can someone explain to me who or what"
ReplyDeleteThe administration sets the tone for the system and what you see here is the tone set by our current administration, beginning with our superintendent, Dr. White, followed by an elected board that does his bidding. They abuse teachers and blame them for the poor performance of students in IPS. The central office is a term that describes the educational service center, a building down town at 120 East Walnut where Dr. White and his many, many administrative buddies are housed.
When you bully people for years, when there is nothing but top down directives, when there is no buy in from anyone, when they roll out one magic save everyone program after another, and then before anyone gets used to them they try another, this is what you get. Anger and frustration.
If you go to the superintendent's blog he has posted information on why IPS needs more money per student, all valid points, but when teachers mention the same things they are making excuses.
Also if these points came from a teacher they might have some credibility. But when they come from a man who makes triple what a teacher makes, has fabulous perks ($900 for a car plus free gas) and manipulates the statistics to get another $17,000., hires friends and relatives it looses its impact.
Wasn't White at the sexting meeting with the school board? That meeting began at 5:30
ReplyDeleteWell there is only one person to blame if that is the case, it obviously isn't him, since he is never to blame. Blame his over paid secretary (who despite being paid is a very nice woman) she apparently didn't keep his appointments straight.
ReplyDeleteOff with her head.
IPS Teacher,
ReplyDeleteIt was just a matter of time before students ( I hope adults aren't responsble for the crude language) started to use this blog. Can you delete the smut?
The latest is they have probably screwed up 403K's and other deductions. Think child support. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI know someone who contacted Andy Gamill from the Indianapolis Star.
ReplyDeleteAndy Gammill is in the hip pocket of Eugene White ...that won't do any good.
ReplyDeleteAndy Gammill is a complete sleaze who twists the facts around until the truth is completely distorted. It is unbelievable that he still has a job.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Andy, it is the entire paper.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure about Andy Gammill and White's relationship, but something does seem fishy.
ReplyDeleteI KNOW teachers who have contacted Andy Gammill with relevant concerns and his reply? "I need to publish your name with the story". THAT is how he sidesteps sticky situations (say that five times fast!).
Dear IPS BS critics,
ReplyDeleteThe United States is a wonderful place full of Rights...including freedom of speech.
I am SO sick of people getting on here and bashing ALL IPS teachers because of comments made on here.
For one, if you don't like it, then don't read it. There are millions and millions of other blogs floating on the Web - go peruse those.
For two, this is a venting forum. Although I agree that the use of swear words and grammatical mistakes is deplorable, not everyone posts those. There are people - including individuals who come on here and claim to be IPS teachers - who take advantage of the fact that this is anonymous, and they abuse the priviledge.
Take some posts with a grain of salt. Better yet, really take a walk into a school, into a classroom, during dismissal and SEE what goes on. 90% of us IPS teachers work our rears off and seldom get praise. This is a place for us to vent frustrations - NOT on school time and school property.
IPS parents should be more worried about the DOE School Snapshots and individual school websites - not IPS BS. The name alone should let you know that this is not a formal education forum.
And now, my friends, I am off of my soap box!
To those of us who are IPS teachers, much of what we read here we know to be true...there are the trolls who pretend to be teachers and Mary Louise Bewley telling lies trying to defend Dr. White...but 90% or more of what you read here is true.
ReplyDeleteI know that it is all true. I wholeheartedly agree with you. We can be mad, but we don't need to resort to cussing and ridiculous grammar.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Dr. White mentioned this blog at the Back to School meeting and said, "they do not know what they are talking about" let's everyone know that there is a lot of truth here.
ReplyDeletePayroll stinks because on Thursday they stop answer the phone and on Friday they take the phone off the hook. Ips is cheap the staff out there money. Two weeks her and there and next thing you know they have 5 weeks week of pay that you can't account for. It sad day every time they get someone new in payroll they star to change everything someone should sued them right away.
